History: Even though he has the Ross Ice shelf, he is a rather small Antarctic country. Having trouble growing up, he was raised by England, then by New Zealand. He holds a grudge against England much like his sister, Nhineira, for abandoning him. He was really close to New Zealand for a while, but gradually broke away. Once he was on his own, he was taken in by Nhineira. He later was on his own again, because Nhineira was stealing food and money from him and Antártica. This resulted in several small wars, in which he and Antártica were victorious over their older sister. Like Antártica, he got donated a lot of money from his siblings and became really rich. In the Antarctic Independence War, he formed AURNA (Antarctic Union of Rossland, Nhineira, and Antártica)to fight a war against Queen Maud Land, who had been their ruler for a long time. Later, allied with Queen Maud Land. After being taken back as QML's territory, he fought a rebellion war against her, and won. However, this did not last long, as Nhineira took him as a part of her land. Although reluctantly, he fought with Antártica, Maudia (QML), Robinia, Nevosatia, and Adelia against Nhineira to break away from her. He has three small countries under his control, which are the islands of Belysia, Zimania, and Pagos. Despite that, he is still in need of extra land due to it melting from global warming. He is also constantly asking Antártica, Nhineira, and Queen Maud Land (or anyone, for that matter) to marry him in desperation of land. Every summer, he gets sick, and every year it gets worse as the ozone hole over Antarctica becomes larger. Recently, however, he's discovered a slightly larger territory in the center of Antarctica, which he named Chislon. Just recently, Belysia, Zimania and Pagos have tried to rebel against him. This was very unexpected, and Ross just barely won, and regained control over the islands. Even though the three islands are countries of their own, they depend on Ross and live in his house. In return, they're like his butlers and maid.

Personality: Ross is a very shy but serious person. When he talks, he talks softly, but without stuttering. He was a little more obnoxious when he was younger, but he quickly learned his lesson by Solumundi. If you get to know him better, you'll figure out he's the prince type of person. He likes to waltz to classical music, and most preferrably with a partner. (Which is usually one of his sisters, or Queen Maud Land.) He also has a taste for expensive things, like Antártica, often drinking rare teas, coffees, and hot chocolates. Since he isn't used to seeing flowers that often, he has a huge fear of bees. Even though he tries to be like Nhineira and claims to hate the snow, deep in his heart, he really loves it. He's also pretty much the only one in Antarctica who actually likes all the snow and ice. He doesn't get along very well with Solumundi, however. (It's only natural since Solumundi was raised by Australia.)
As with Belysia, Zimania and Pagos, he treats them more like personal maids/butlers. When he gets sick (which is actually pretty often), Belysia forces him to take the correct medicine, which then results in Ross becoming extremely tired, and acting very strange(Or like he's drunk). When he asks one of the three for something, he expects it on-the-spot. Even though he seems really demanding, he deeply cares for the three.
Likes: Expensive coffees, teas, and chocolates, silk, gold, and he especially loves snow/winter. Also, the color purple, and Ross seals.

Dislikes: Bees, England, Solumundi, summer, being sick

Favorite food/drink: Chocolate truffles, sauteed icefish, and grape msljoch

National Animal: Ross seal

Geography:
Vast plains of ice and snow, along with the most valuable geographic feature in Rossland, the Ross Ice Shelf. There is also a portion of the West Antarctic Ranges, the tallest mountain range in Antarctica. There are a couple rocky places, in the areas of the mountains and near the shore (or near the McMurdo Dry Valleys)Arana is located on Ross Island, which is in the Ross sea, and not actually part of the mainland. The island is formed by four volcanoes, the two main ones being Mt. Terror and Mt. Erebus. The other two are Mt. Terra Nova and Mt. Byrd.

Weather/Climate:
Mostly snowy, and/or extremely cold. The coastlines of Antarctica get the most snow, but have milder temperatures (even though they are still freezing). Precipitation on the shorelines consists mostly of snow, which can cover up to 20-40 inches or more of ground. On average, coastal winds can exceed 198mph. On the mainland, the wind can be only 12mph.
Winters in Antarctica are very dark and severe. At the equinox of March 22, the sun sets and the light of day is not seen again for six months, until September 22. This marks the start of the cold, dark winters that Antarctica is famous for. Penguins are the only animals that spend winter in Antarctica.
Blizzards are the usual involving Antarctic weather as a whole.
Even the summers in Antarctica have been becoming colder, going against global warming.(Much to Ross's delight)

Wildlife/Vegetation:
On the coast, there are numerous amounts of sealife. Crustaceans include species of krill, crabs, shrimp, lobsters, sea spiders, etc. While fishes include crocodilefish, dragonfish, hagfish, and the most popular to eat, the icefish/Antarctic cod. Whales include mainly baleen whales, but orcas are also seen. Seals such as the Ross seal are common in this area of Antarctica. Baby seals were once hunted for their fur, but animal rights groups have now protected them in Rossland.
Birds include terns, albatrosses, skuas, gulls, cormorants, sheathbills, and penguins. The Ross seal is a symbol of Rossland. They're the least common seal, and they're also the smallest seal in Antarctica. Not much else is known about them, but their population is lower because feeding areas are limited. They prey mostly on squid, krill, and fish.
There are only two species of plants that grow in Antarctica. They are the Antarctic hair grass and Antarctic pearlwort, which is a type of moss.
-Msljoch ((Msogl- Welsh; moss , joch- Welsh; drink, pronounced Missile-yock)) is an alcoholic beverage made from Antarctic pearlwort, and other things such as imported fruit juices are mixed with it to give it better flavor. In Nhineira, the most common of the juices used is apple juice/cider. In Rossland, grape juice is more common, and in Antártica they use pineapple or orange juice.
